About Lexie

Lexie has a long-standing passion for the unique character of hand lettering. It has a spirit and expressive energy that cannot be created with computer-generated scripts.

She undertook formal studies at TAFE before completing the Diploma in Western Calligraphy and Certificate IV in Calligraphy Teaching. Her pursuit of excellence in lettering art was recognised with the awarding of Guild membership of the Australian Society of Calligraphers in 1998.

Lexie has been closely involved with the educational aspect of calligraphy. She has taught at TAFE and held the position of administrator – and later co-ordinator – of the VETAB accredited Diploma in Western Calligraphy, teaching various modules of this course. Lexie conducts weekly classes in community colleges, as well as workshops for regional societies and the Sturt Summer School. She has refined her skills by studying with eminent Australian calligraphers and under internationally-renowned tutors in Australia and overseas.

Lexie is a past president and exhibition co-ordinator of the Australian Society of Calligraphers and has been a judge of the Western Calligraphy section at the Royal Easter Show and Castle Hill Show. She has previously been nominated in the Calligraphy category of the Australian Bridal Industry Awards.
